Martha Garcia-Baker, CPA, PA
Martha
Garcia-Baker is an Audit Partner in the Gainesville office
of Davis, Monk & Company. Martha graduated from the
University of Florida in 1986 with a Master of Accounting and
holds the Governmental Accounting Certificate of Educational
Achievement awarded by the American Institute of Certified
Public Accountants. Since joining Davis, Monk & Company,
Martha has been primarily involved in all aspects of accounting,
auditing and financial reporting of governmental entities.
She is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the Florida Institute of CPAs, the Government Finance Officers Association, and the Florida Government Finance Officers Association. Martha has served on various committees of the Florida Institute of CPAs and is currently a member of the FICPA State and Local Government Committee. She is a past-president of the North Central Florida Chapter of the FICPA. In 2004, Martha was appointed to serve in the Executive Committee of the AICPA's Governmental Audit Quality Center and the FICPA's Peer Review Committee.
Martha has, supervised and performed numerous governmental audits, including audits under OMB Circular A-133 and the Florida Single Audit Act. Her degree of involvement has been from staff to partner levels. She has also provided extensive government consulting services.
Martha has been active in providing assistance in the preparation of budgets, solid waste/full cost accounting disclosures and advance refundings. She has performed several agreed-upon procedures engagements regarding compliance issues related to governmental entities.
